Diamonds - streak o' lightening: double bed size, professionally quilted by Signature Quilts. After finishing my Turquoise Streak o' Lightening quilt and, feeling a bit of quilt separation anxiety as my niece took it back to London, England with her, I wanted to do another streak o' lightening design, so devised this irregular diamond pattern. I drew out the pattern beforehand on squared paper so that I knew how to sew each block. The border makes this quilt. I had to patch the top and the bottom border as I couldn't fit the pattern exactly across the width of the quilt. I think the patching (found in the middle of the top and bottom border) adds some interest, though goodness knows how I managed to get them differently sized. This is one of my favourite quilts.
